Hello all Olvl graduates!
Guess most of you have gotten ur results. Be it good or bad, u have tried ur best :) Be happy!
Anyway, just to inform u all that if you are very keen to enter SAJC and are interested to join CO/ with CO background but ur l1r5 did not meet e school's intake points, DONT WORRY :) haha
What u can do is, choose SAJC as ur first choice. If u cant get in, u can appeal through CO which can get u into SAJC with higher chances. Before appealing, please inform our teacher in charge, Mdm Hue Kin Lan or Ms Wong Sook Yee through email or phone no. Email: hue_kin_lan@moe.edu.sg / wong_sook_yee@edu.moe.sg

Hello all j1s!!
We will be having practice on this coming fri (11/1) from 630-830pm. Pls do report by 6pm as our conductor will be coming at 630pm sharp. For those who have signed up at our booth today, pls rmb to turn up :)
As for others who are interested to join/ still considering but did not sign up at our booth, feel free to make a trip down for this practice. You will get to experience what a chinese orchestra/SACO is like. People who have experience in playing the co instruments, we welcome u all to join us in playing the songs for Chinese New Year celebration. As for people without music background, u could make use of this chance to understand how each instruments are played and make ur choice of instuments that u all would like to learn.
Hope to see all of you at the CO room on fri! :)

Hello J1s once again!
Orientation should end yesterday night. Hope u all had an enjoyable orientation organised by Student councillors.
Well, its time for u all to choose ur CCA on Wednesday. Every cca will be setting out booth at the respective areas allocated. For us, CO, we still dunno e venue yet! BUT! i will inform u all ASAP. :)
I would greatly recommend CO. Let me tell u why u SHOULD join co.
1)CO people are really friendly :D
Though we are quite small in strength, we are very bonded! Thats why we have a slogan ''Saints Orchestra, one family unbroken'' Orchestra being small is not a really big factor in making u choosing it as a cCA. Other JCs are also having this prob. U may compare the CO u have in ur sec sch with SACO. But u must consider one thing. Sec sch CO are made up of 4/5years cohort unlike JC, for now theres only 1 year cohort. So, u cant really judge from no. Currently, we have a few Talented CO members too. What i would say is.... though we have no quantity, we have qualities! :)
2)SACO is really different from other COs.
How different? u may ask. We are different in terms of the songs we play. Many people have e impression that CO music are really noisy, very traditional, very old fashion. That is not true for SACO! We are moving towards e direction of arrangings songs on our own! For last year's concert, we played our self arranged song- 晴天 and 菊花台 by jay chou. U can never hear any sch playing 晴天 i bet. hahha Join us! U will love e songs we arranged.
3) Aren't u sick of joining sports cca? CCA are programs that allow you to learn something new! since in ur sec sch, u have alr learnt e skill, u should pick up another skill in JC! Why not make a big change from Sports to Performing ARts? We are still young! We should experience different things when we are given opportunities! Never had e chance to learn an instument? We have many opportunities for u here in CO! Its FreeOfCharge! LOl. Plus, u get an experience in performing on stage, people buying tickets just to watch u perform. Isnt that great? Stop hesitating! haha :) U have2 years to pick up as much instuments as u like :)
4)we got a SILVER award for syf. I noe that isnt really great comparing it with SAdance n band with gold n gold honours. BUT, we are making an improvement! Results requires effort. band especially, have many practices in a week. U wouldn't want to stay back everyday right? Award doesnt really matters. What matters most is e time u spent in cca, whether is it worth it.
5) Our practice time! We have only like 2 practice each week. Its on Tues and Fri compared to other cCA which falls on wed n fri. Though its 630-830pm each practice, its really worth it. How worthy u may ask. Alright. For School timetable, as wed n fri are CCA days, timetable would definitely end before 3:30. So for CO ppl, Wed we would be the ones going home earliest becos we dont have CCA on wed! For tues, most likely some ppl will end sch at round 5pm. So since its so late alr, y not stay for another few hours for co. not much difference. U wouldnt need to stay back for an extra day. :) thats y i say co is good. xD
So doesnt e above points make sense why u should join Co? Dont hesitate alr. Just Choose CO!

To all new JC1s,
Im here to clear all ur doubts on e first day of sch! haha
First, if all of you haven seen e sch's website, Here's the instruction given by the student councillors. "Students posted into SAJC are to report to College by 7.25am on Wednesday, 2nd January 2008 in their Secondary School uniforms. Please bring along your Report Book, CCA Records and $18 for the Orientation Package."
First of all, WELCOME!! (to all e newcomers) :] Hope all of u will enjoy e coming weeks in SAJC.
Let me share my experience with u all regarding the 1st day of sch.
For my batch, which is last year, DSA applicants are grouped together with DSA applicants, Normal students are grouped with normal students, according to their IC nos. or another way is birth dates. yup! U can checked at the noticeboard outside general office for ur Orientation group no. Be early if u wan to avoid crowds. haha
So, most of you would be wandering around outside the general office when u rched e sch. It would be super crowded there. haha most of the students would be meeting up with their schoolmates.
Until after e bell rang, Student councillors would appear and direct u all to the Cultural Centre (CC) 1st day is usually very boring. they will give u a tour perhaps a subject talk also. They would brief u on Orientation also.
Yup! so dun worry if u r alone. U can always make new friends! For ppl alone, it would be better if u approach other ppl who are alone too! so u all can be partners for whatever activities :) haha As for other people with close frens, i guess u all would be sms-ing each other asking where r u during breaktimes lOl
1st orientation is usually more fun than e 2nd one.. cos they usually repeat e activities. so ENJOY! and most imptly, choose CO as ur CCA :)
